Life in PA

Well it is finally feeling like home here in PA.  I have been able to check out the local library, the Children's Science Center, the Natural History museum, and I can get to the grocery store without the GPS!  Now I am just anxiously awaiting warmer weather so Jackson and I can get outside!  It has been so cold and snowy here...  one day I left the house to run an errand but decided to turn back after fishtailing all the way down the hill that I live on.  Despite the fact that I was only 2 blocks from home, it took me 30 minutes to get back!  My car simply could not make it back up any of the hills in my neighborhood.  After many fruitless attempts and a phone call to Jordan crying, I ended up driving in a big loop (still getting stuck on the slightest incline!) to get to the top of the hill to get home.
Other than that crazy excursion, life is good!  I love being home with Jackson all day:)  He is so fun to play with!  Jackson's favorite things to do are play in his exersaucer, suck his thumb, lay on the floor so he can kick his legs and flail his arms like crazy!, read books, sing songs (yes, someone actually appreciates my singing:)), play airplane, talk to the cat and dog that hang down over his bouncer, get held, get tickled, bathtime, and his most recent thing- grab his toys and put the ones he can into his mouth.  Oddly enough, his favorite "toy" has been the bright blue and yellow wet wipe container that crinkles when he grabs it.  Jackson's dislikes are tummy time (he went on a little hiatus when it came to rolling over, but his trick is back so tummy time is hard to do!), being put down or left alone, when the cat and dog don't talk back, and the first 20 seconds of nap time.  Thankfully he has been sleeping 10hrs at night and finally has 4 standard naptimes a day.  I'm finally able to get things done!  He also doesn't seem to like the camera.  He will be laughing and playing but as soon as we pull out the camera he stops and stares at it with a blank or scared look.  Even when we try to be secretive he somehow knows what's going on and finds it!  My goal this week has been to get him laughing on camera but it seems futile.  Oh well, maybe next time.

Well he is a little over 3 months, so it takes awhile to get there! I recommend reading the book Babywise. While I don't agree with everything in the book, there is some great advice in there to help you get started. I also really like the book Baby 411.

I love reading about your little boy! I'm sure he and Mack will be fast friends. :) I'm glad you were able to read Babywise. The author's a little crazy, but it has some good ideas!

I'm glad you guys are feeling more settled in! That's exciting that Jackson is sucking his thumb. Jack is a big thumb-sucker and I swear it is the best comfort object you can get! You will love it!
