ONE

Tyler turned one! I can't believe it, this year went by way too fast. I still completely think of him as my little baby but he really is getting so big. We celebrated his big day by opening presents in the morning so that we could go outside and play with them. Tyler got a kiddie pool from mom and dad, and Jackson picked him out some fun water toys to go with it. Tyler wasn't too interested in ripping the paper and needed his big brother's help opening the presents, but he was pretty excited about the new toys, especially the ball. He kept saying "ball" over and over again!
I'm not sure why he does this, probably just to be silly, but he always puts his hands up like this when he gets excited. It's so funny!
After playing in the new pool Ty took his nap and I made his Hungry Caterpillar cake.
After dinner we went to Connor & Jana's house for cake and ice cream with the Thompson family. It was so nice of them to let us have everyone at their house instead of our little apartment.
Tyler was so funny eating his cupcake at first because he was just bending down putting his mouth in it instead of using his hands:)
Then Tyler got to open some more presents! I don't have any more pictures, but we spent the rest of the night hanging out with Connor & Jana's family lighting sparklers and fireworks. It was a great day!
The next day we went to my parent's house and Tyler got to open some more presents! Birthdays are the best!
Tyler at one:
Tyler is still very much a mommy's boy which I completely love! He is such a sweet and sensitive little guy. He loves to snuggle and give hugs and kisses. I love when he cuddles into me and starts patting my back, my heart still melts every time. Tyler loves playing with his big brother! They like to play a game where Jackson throws an object and they chase each other to see who can get to it first, giggling the entire time. Jackson still gets the best laughter out of Tyler, all he has to do is look at him silly and Ty cracks up. They have also already started in on the wrestling. Tyler sometimes loves it and sometimes just pushes Jackson away- which he can totally do now! Tyler is very friendly and flirty with people and loves attention. He especially loves all of his extended family. Some of Ty's favorite things are mom, balls, balloons, dogs, climbing stairs, and playing with whatever Jackson has. Words he says: mama, dada, grandpa, ball, truck, dog, duck, boat, book (I think), more (we hear this one a LOT!). Animals he can make the sound for: dog, duck, cow, sheep, owl, monkey, dinosaur. He is learning the body parts and for sure knows mouth, nose, eye, and belly. Tyler is well on his way to walking! He can stand up in the middle of the floor now and he will take a few steps, but he always gets scared and just sits down. He is a cautious little guy for sure. He has taken around 7 steps at once though so he is pretty close to taking off!

Tyler's 1 year stats:
8 teeth
22.13 lbs, 34%
30 in, 48%
and true to Thompson form his head is in the 77th percentile!

Happy birthday Tyler, we love you so very much!!!
