November & December 2011

Cutting down our Christmas tree up Ephraim Canyon.
Here is Jackson's letter to Santa. So cute!
It was such a warm winter which was nice, but we sure missed the snow! I only got to ski once and we never took Jackson which we had wanted to do this year. Lucky Jordan actually got to go a handful of times though. We also got to take the boys sledding a few times. They both loved it though Tyler never lasted long... every time we went he would take a turn or two and then crash.
Our first snowman of the year. Too bad it only lasted about 5 minutes. We walked down to the mailbox after making it and came back to find it demolished by some school kids walking home.
An early little present from G&G Lords. Jackson of course LOVED his "worker" stuff. If you know anything about this little boy you know that he loves to accessorize with anything that he can somehow wear on his body.
Case in point....
Ever since dad brought these home for him he says he wants to be a nurse anesthetist when he grows up. (Though sometimes he still wants to be a crossing guard. Not sure why, but he is pretty fascinated with them.)
Decorating gingerbread men and gingerbread houses at Grandma & Grandpa Lords' house. It was so messy but the boys had so much fun! I was shocked that they still ate dinner after all the candy and icing that they ate. Too bad Jordan was on call that weekend and missed out on all of the fun.
Here are the big boys putting together the houses.
My siblings are so weird. Here is Lexi with her Lady Gaga gingerbread.
And here is Drew with his disturbing gingerbread man snacking on another gingerbread man. He also made the one below it, a gingerbread man in an outhouse. So if you ever thought I was weird....meet the rest of the Lords crew, I am one of the tamer ones! :)
Decorating sugar cookies at Grandma & Grandpa Thompson's. You can tell Jordan was around for this one since Jackson stayed so clean and Tyler didn't even decorate this time. Can you tell who the clean/neat freak is in the family?
Christmas Bingo! The boys loved playing this, Jackson still mentions it and asks if we can play next Christmas.
Santa sent us an Elf on the Shelf this year. Jackson wanted to give him a "firefighter" name so he named him Lou. The boys liked finding him every morning, especially Tyler, he was always the one to remember to look for him.
Christmas Eve day my parents and sister came down to spend some time with us and spoil us all with presents!
Christmas Eve night with the Thompsons. Being the new guy, Jordan was on call for Christmas this year and of course he got called in for an emergency surgery right as we were sitting down for our nice Christmas Eve dinner. Thankfully it was a quick one and he got back just after we finished up. Here are the boys with Grandma T and some of their cousins in their Christmas eve jammies.
Christmas morning Grandma & Grandpa Thompson and Cole & Breanne came over to watch the kiddos open their presents. The boys decided to sleep in so we finally broke out the cowbell to wake them up- this is a Thompson family tradition. They had so much fun and totally got spoiled. I think I went a little bit overboard this year but I just had so much fun! Plus I got really good at deal hunting and price matching and got some pretty amazing deals!
After presents we went to Wes & Susan's for breakfast and then came home to play with our new toys before getting together with all of the Thompson family again that night. I didn't get pictures of the gift exchange but here are the kids acting out the Christmas story while Grandpa narrates.
