Marathon Mama

Well I never thought I'd say it, but I miss Utah!  And I don't just mean all of the people there (although that is a given), I am actually missing the state itself.  People out here always ask me what I like to do or what I have been up to and I have to laugh at myself because after thinking for a minute the only answer I seem to give is "um, play with Jackson!"  And while I adore my little man and love playtime I find myself missing good old Utah and my far away answers of skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, cycling... most of which can't easily be done here:(  So in an effort to give myself something to do in addition to mom, I am signing up for the St. George Marathon!  Crazy, I know, but I need something to put my extra time and energy into.  Besides, it is a good excuse to take another trip to Utah:)  So assuming we (I convinced my little brother and brother in law to both sign up too) get picked amongst the too large pool of crazed marathoners to be in the race, AND assuming my bum knee from an old rugby injury can handle it, I will have a new hobby for 18 devoted weeks!  So since I have never been a hardcore runner by any means, any advice, race day music picks, or even prayers would be greatly appreciated;)  Maybe you could even give me some new hobby suggestions for after the marathon because who knows what I would pick next...
