Well I am way late posting about the massive snow storm we had, but better late than never! In less than 24 hours we got about 2 feet of snow, and then it kept on coming! Our county, as well as many others in Pennsylvania, was in an official state of emergency for a few days. Power was out in many communities, schools were cancelled, streets were unplowed and blocked with fallen trees, and everyone was told to stay home. The crazy thing was that all of this lasted for days, almost a whole week! Apparently this was the biggest storm that has hit the area in over 30 years. We have had more snow off and on ever since then and today finally broke the record for the most snowfall in one winter, and it is still February! I feel badly for the people who suffered because of the storm, but I have to be honest, I LOVED it! Jordan got to stay home from school for a few days, we played outside, went snowshoeing, and because we live on a main road that the plows kept up with, we were able to easily leave our house. We did get stuck once venturing out to a super bowl party, but thank goodness for 4 wheel drive! All of the snow brought back fun memories of growing up in Vermont where storms like this are much more common and the snow is always plentiful! I was also glad that Jackson loves the snow; he had a blast playing in it and shouting "snow!" over and over (which really sounds more like "no!" by the way). :)
We opened the garage door and as soon as Jackson saw all the snow he took off running and crashed right into it with a big smile!
The massive pile of snow that was as tall as Jordan after he shoveled the driveway.
In the middle of shoveling. PS, that white mound in the background is our car!
The start of a tunnel!
We usually switch off with Jackson but since I am pregnant and snowshoeing is already a major heart rate raiser, poor Jordan had to carry him the entire time. By the end of our excursion when Jordan took off his coat he had steam coming off of his back!
And a special thanks to Rita for the snow clothes, they have gotten a lot of use this year!
