I don't know why church basketball is so notorious for being rough, but it is definitely true! Jordan comes home with some kind of injury almost every week. A few weeks ago it was dried blood all over his arms from fingernail cuts, then came this nice little shiner the next week....
And shortly after that a very badly twisted ankle. We went to watch his first stake game and within the first 5 minutes Jordan landed on someone's foot twisting his ankle. He immediately had a swollen bump the size of a tennis ball on his ankle which turned into a swollen and bruised foot & calf over the next few days. One of the surgeons at his clinical took a look at it and had him go get an x-ray, but luckily it was not broken! It took a few weeks to heal which Jordan was so sad about since he not only missed stake bball games, but his Pitt intramural games too. Ouch!

Oh my word, I had no idea church ball was really that intense! Tell Jordan he needs to be more careful :)
Andrew was at the doctor's last week from church ball :) Grandma just barely told me on sun. that you were expecting! Congratulations, I told her she's in trouble I didn't know sooner. I hope your feeling good :)
Tom got an ankle that looked like that and an X-ray when he used to play church ball here too :) Maybe they should have one of us girls be the ref and keep them from being so harsh on each other. And I read your post about Jackson being so sick...that was a great idea to have him say thank you! I remember when I worked at Primary Children's I put an IV in this little girl once and after I was done and about to leave the room she said, "Don't forget to say you're sorry!" and she gave me this huge smile. Kids are so cute! I bet Jackson's nurses loved him.
Although they haven't been that bad, Danny comes home with some new injury every week also. He hasn't been able to wear his wedding ring since he started playing because he's jammed his finger too many times. His legs are covered with big bruises and he's always making me work out some strained muscle. Today he came home complaining that he's been having sharp pains on the back of his head all day from when someone elbowed him last night. I can't wait until it's over and I'm not reminded everyday of how old my husband is!
