Polka Dots

Poor little Jackson has polka dots all over his body. That's what he's been calling them anyways. You might know them better as hives. He is COVERED. Literally head to toe in this painful, itchy rash. It turns out the little guy is allergic to amoxicillin, which he had been taking for an ear infection. The rash started Saturday evening. Sunday morning we took him to the ER.

Today he saw his PCP and was finally prescribed some steroids. You know it's bad when all the nurses and the office staff come to look at him and are shocked, wondering what the heck happened to him. He looks awful! His feet are so swollen that they are twice the size and he can barely walk. His face is so swollen that his right eye only opens a sliver. It breaks my heart that I can't do anything for him. But as always, my tough little guy is taking it like a champ and enjoying all the cartoons and movies he wants since we don't usually let him watch much TV. Hopefully his little body will heal quickly!
