Summer 2011

What a fun summer it has been! I am so sad to see it end. Here are some of the fun things we did in August.

We went on our annual Lake Powell trip with the Thompsons. It was Tyler's first time going (unless you count me being 7 or so months pregnant with him last summer) and he did great. Jackson was a little scared of the tube this summer but once we could get him out there he would like it. I tried slalom skiing for the first time. I could get up just fine, but couldn't stay up for more than a few seconds. I got a little better by the end of the summer though. Jordan of course is a pro on the water! We also went to Sand Mountain while we were there. It is this big hill of sand that you can climb up and run down. It was really cool but sure made me realize how out of shape I am, it's hard to climb up sand! Jackson agreed, he was not a fan.
We had a quite a few fishing trips. Here is one at Community lake just up Ephraim Canyon. Jackson was the only one to catch a fish that day! I think he caught one every time he went fishing this summer, he is a natural! We found a snake while we were there so Jordan caught it to show the kids. Ty was really interested in it and liked touching it; I think Jackson only touched it because his little brother had:)
We played outside a lot of course! Here is Tyler enjoying his birthday present from Grandma.....ok so he was a little scared of it at first, but he really did love it after this first time. The boys also had a blast playing in the dirt all summer, much to their father's dismay.
We went to the Sanpete County fair. Tyler loved the animals and the parade, he got so excited watching it! Jackson loved the rides and the Mater tow truck that he spotted at the car show.
We only got in one hike this summer. I guess we still have some time to go before it gets too cold though!
Jackson had his first visit with Dr. Connor, his favorite dentist, who also happens to be his uncle:) He did great and didn't move an inch during the exam.
We've had lots of silly time too! Here are my little sumo wrestlers playing king of the hill on Grandma's air mattress. Below that is from one afternoon when Jackson came out of his room and informed us he was dressed up as a "bad guy".
We will miss you summer!
