Double Trouble

I used to listen to the loud, excited laughter of Jackson and Tyler playing together in another room and think, "Oh how cute! How sweet! What good little boys playing so nicely with each other!" My heart would literally melt at the thought of the brotherly bonding going on. I would even try to capitalize on the situation by folding laundry or doing dishes since they both seemed so happily occupied. It took me awhile, but I have finally learned a very valuable lesson. This sweet laughter of my beloved children is BAD NEWS! It almost always means trouble. (Grape juice covering the just mopped kitchen floor, pretending their milk is hair gel, drawing on each other with markers, emptying a brand new container of wet wipes all over their bedroom, using desitin as chapstick, etc, etc, etc.) Apparently doing something together that they know they aren't supposed to be doing is hilarious to my 1 and 3 year old. I am terrified for the teenage years.
Though, I will admit a part of me thinks back to my childhood and I can't help but smile as I remember the things my siblings and I used to do when my mom wasn't looking- smashing bananas on the wood floor so we could use it as a "slip n slide", hiding an entire pizza in the ceiling of a hotel we were staying at, lego wars that covered a new entertainment system in dents, an epic pea fight that my mom somehow never found out about even though we were finding dried peas for months, they were even crusted to the window grills. Yes, I smile, and then I think, "WHY THE HECK AM I BUILDING A NEW HOUSE????"

Ha ha! We would have wars with those little candy "metal" sprinkle balls- we would shoot them out of our mouths at each other (and often babysitters) like BBs!
