3

My baby turned 3 last month! A few days before his actual birthday my parents came down to help kick off the celebrating. Jackson was so excited about his new fire truck plasma car they had waiting for him after church that he wouldn't even come in to change before trying it out!
Later that night we met up with the Thompson clan for cake and ice cream. Jackson really wanted a spiderman cake. Most of the ideas I found online looked really hard so I tried changing his mind, but he was set on it. Thank goodness I found this little toy so that I didn't have to pipe out spiderman himself. It wasn't my best work, but Jackson loved it! My little sister decorated the mini cupcakes for me.
On Jackson's actual birthday Jordan got called into the hospital for a labor & delivery. We didn't know how long he would be there so we had a yummy breakfast and then let Jackson open his presents before Jordan left. He got legos, a tag reader system, and some fire fighter gear from Tyler. The legos have been a HUGE hit and have occupied a couple hours of every day since. The tag reader has also been awesome, I would definitely recommend this toy!
That afternoon we met Grandma & Grandpa Thompson and Aunt Breanne for lunch at McDonalds. Jordan also finished up quickly and was able to meet us there a little late. Jackson loves his new scooter from his grandparents! The rest of the day was filled with trying out all of his new toys, eating more cake, and staying up late for a movie night!
I just can't believe it has been 3 whole years since this...
I'm so proud of this little guy! He has an amazing memory and learns things so quickly! I had really slacked off on formal learning activities with Jackson during our crazy months of job hunting, moving, and settling in here. Not to mention summer fun. So we finally started up again a little bit ago and have been working on writing his letters. I really wanted him to be able to write his name by his birthday and he did it! He can also write mom and dad and most of the uppercase letters. Way to go buddy!!! We love you so much!
