August 2012

One of my dear friends from Pittsburgh just moved to Utah and came down to visit us! It was so much fun to see Carlee and her boys. Jackson had a blast too, he and Hayden had been great friends in the burgh.

After letting the boys have multiple bubble baths in my jet tub, which they love, I found out it's bad for the jets to turn them on with bubbles in the water. Oops! Too bad, those bubbles were awesome!

Jackson had his second session of swimming lessons. I am sooo glad we signed him up again. He gained so much confidence in the water and has turned into quite the little fish now! He will even swim a few feet on his own without a life vest! The last few days of lessons the kids were given the opportunity to go off the diving board. Jackson didn't want to the first day but when dad heard they were letting them he offered a good bribe.... if you do it, mom will take you to McDonalds for lunch. That was incentive enough! He was scared at first but finally let go of the instructor and jumped right in! The best part was that as soon as his head popped up out of the water he yells out to me... "Mom, can we go to McDonalds now!?!" Thank you Jackson for letting everyone in the pool know that I bribed you:)

Have you ever seen kids so excited about eating spinach? They have been loving my green smoothies this summer and knowing there is half a bag of spinach in each batch sure makes this sticky mess worth it!

We had some bad news at the end of July. Our little kitty Andi got run over. We had gotten pretty attached to her so it was super sad. I will admit that I, the one who supposedly hates cats, cried pretty hard. The sweet thing was that for weeks afterwards Jackson would pray for her saying things like.... "please bless Andi that she is having fun in heaven with Jesus". It was a good life lesson. Anyways, Jordan worked quickly to find the boys a new little kitten. Her name is Mia and she is super cute. She is much more feisty than Andi was so the boys like to call her "ferocious". She still plays well with the kids and lets them hold her but sometimes they tell me she is being rude:)

One day after a rainstorm Jackson decided to go play slip n slide in the mud! He had a blast and was completely covered in mud! Tyler liked watching him but did not want to participate!
Jordan and Jackson went to Lake Powell with the Thompsons this month. Unfortunately I was a little too far along to go so Ty and I went up to my parents' house instead. Jordan said Jackson did great in the water and never wanted to get out! He even tried kneeboarding for the first time this year and was able to do it all by himself!!! I am so proud of him, I sure wish I could have been there to watch him!

My family came down to go camping at Palisades with us. They were here during the fair so we went to the derby and checked out some of the rides and activities after swimming at the Manti pool. It was such a fun weekend!
The boys both loved the derby! The best part was when Jackson asked me, "Mom, does that guy know he has a hole in his car?".

And now I am 37 weeks, full-term, and ready to have this baby!!! This pregnancy has been super hard on my body. I sure hope he wants to follow his older brothers' examples and come early! Now that my blog is all caught up I have crossed the last thing off of my to do list before baby. Anytime now little guy!
